African Exfoliating Nets vs. Traditional Wash Rags

Posted by L R on

The African net sponge, also known as a Sapo bathing sponge, is a durable sponge made of 100% nylon that exfoliates the skin and helps reduce dry and rough skin, rashes, back acne, eczema, and other skin issues. Depending on the texture, exfoliation can range from gentle to intense. Our nets are hand-made in Ghana.

The material and length (33-40 inches long 11-15 inches wide) of the African net sponge make it a staple for daily cleaning. Unlike a traditional loofah and washcloth, the net sponge:

  • Unclogs pores
  • Removes dead skin, oil and dirt
  • Cleans hard-to-reach areas such as the back
  • Dries quick, preventing bacteria build up
  • Softens the skin
  • Improves blood circulation
  • Lathers efficiently reducing the amount of soap needed
  • Lasts up to two years
While washcloths are inexpensive and versatile, they can also harbor bacteria. A moist, used washcloth that is left to air dry each day creates an ideal environment for mold and bacteria to thrive. African Exfoliating Nets dry extremely fast, therefore reducing the growth of bacteria.
